Staff Infection: Rockets Dead Glare – “Another Junkie Story”

Loud Feedback Editor In Chief Jeff Feuerhaken’s New Music Video, “Another Junkie Story” By Rockets Dead Glare

Here at Loud Feedback, we’re not only interested in discussing new media, we also love creating our own! That’s why we’ve decided to create a brand new section on the site: Staff Infection. This section will serve as a showcase for the Loud Feedback staff to show off their own creative endeavors. Many of the podcast listeners have been aware of the music video I’ve been working on for my band, Rockets Dead Glare. Well, the video has now premiered on the front page of BlankTv.com, so it’s time to share it with you guys!

In addition to playing bass in the band (for those of you who don’t know what I look like, I’m the blonde dude), I also produced, directed, and edited the video. Mike Kobzeff was co-producer, Ryan Christian was Director Of Photography, Erika Sheckells did hair/makeup, and actress Raiven Lynn played “The Junkie”. The other band members in Rockets Dead Glare are Nick Nicioli on vocals/guitars, and Dustin Keeney on bass. We shot the video on two separate weekend days. The first day we filmed the interiors, including the intro and all the band performance footage (before the neighbors came to complain!). On day two, we finished up the B-roll by taking our crew and actress to all the exterior locations (the beach, the park, driving, etc.).

The video was all shot on a Canon 5D Mark 3, with the exception of one composite shot I did on my own Canon 60D. The video was edited in Adobe Premiere, with some compositing and stabilization work done in After Effects. For the tech nerds, the video was shot at 24 fps 1080p, but the slow motion shots seen in the bridge were shot at 60fps and then reinterpreted in Premiere to nail the slomo look. I had a great time putting this together, and I want to thank everyone involved for doing such an excellent job! Look forward to podcast cohost Mike Gomes bringing some of his acting work to Staff Infection soon!
